We strive to provide patients with high quality medical care based on current medical standards. Board Certified Pain Physicians and Registered Nurses are available for each procedure. We attend CME’s and utilize Quality Assessment reviews.

Highest Medical Ethics

We will adhere to the highest medical ethics: Patient confidentiality, accurate and fair billing practices, and genuine concern. The implications of all treatment plans, procedures, and medications will be discussed with the patient. The patient’s input will help formulate the best treatment plan. Procedures will not be performed in “a series of three”, but rather one at a time and then the patient will be reevaluated. We try hard to schedule patients at their earliest convenience, usually within 24-72 hours. Same day appointments can be arranged based on the patient’s medical condition.

Common Conditions Managed

    • Acute and Chronic Low Back Pain
    • Radiculopathy • Herniated Discs
    • Spinal Stenosis
    • Whiplash Syndrome
    • Extremity Pain
    • Joint Pain
    • Musculoskeletal Pain
    • Cancer Pain
    • Acute and Chronic Pain Syndromes

Avoiding Surgery

Many patients fear having elective spine surgery for a variety of reasons. Our goal is to help the patient avoid elective spine surgery. There is a variety of outpatient treatment options that, when offered to the patient, are more appealing than spine surgery. The following are all outpatient procedures requiring light sedation:
    •    Dekompressor - Will reduce the size of disc herniation by aspiration of disc material through a needle
    •    Nucleoplasty – Will reduce the size of a disc herniation by ablation of disc material through a needle.
    •    Radiofrequency Denervation – will allow for ablation of nerves that supply various pain generators such as facet joints
    •    IDET – will allow for denervation of painful nerve endings in the outer fibers of an intervertebral disc

Goals

We focus on creating a treatment plan that will quickly return a patient to their prior way of life, to assist the patient in achieving the highest quality of life. The primary goals are to reduce pain, improve function and to avoid spine surgery or other surgery. We believe in trying to minimize the use of opioid/narcotic medications if possible. Treatment plan can incorporate and coordinate the use of physical therapy and occupational therapy.

Our doctors have a strong background and extensive experience in spinal injuries, sports injuries, musculoskeletal pain and neuromuscular diseases. Anesthesiology-based pain management allows for a thorough and complete evaluation of the patient and a formulation of a multifaceted, non-operative treatment plan. All diagnostic findings and causes of pain will be discussed with the patient.

We will promptly send a medical note to the patients referring physician(s). We will send reports of any diagnostic studies and treatments to the referring physician(s). As well as keep the referring physician(s) informed of the patient’s progress.
